“But Jesus said, let the little children come to me….for such is the kingdom of heaven!” Matthew 19:14 NKJV
This past weekend was filled with many frustrations, yet many joys. My husband and I had the privilege of taking our special needs, medically complex daughter to a carnival in N.C. This carnival was hosted by Northview Church of Christ and was completely geared towards people with special needs and their families.
The JOY that filled the building was remarkable! Joy abounded! The special needs…their caretakers…those who helped with all the activities….those who sponsored booths….the children. Not one sad face or spirit!
Some of society looks at those with special needs as a burden. Whereas, in reality, it’s quite the opposite! Anyone who spends just a few moments with one of these special gifts from God, walks away blessed. God knew exactly what He was doing when He blessed us with “special” people!
We need to learn from them. Learn what? Patience, goodness, faithfulness, love, joy, gentleness and self control. They are the least selfish, and the most joyful.
Thank you GOD for your special blessings!!
”Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.” Psalm 119:1
