”….weeping may endure for a night, but JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!” Psalm 30:5 NKJV
Yes, you read that title correctly. IAM a dependent! …..on GOD. And only on God. It is God who protects me, who holds my hand through trials, who blesses me, who watches over my children, who guides my steps, who heals my children and me, and yes…who allows trials and tribulations in my life. In doing so, my patience is strengthened, my faith is made stronger, and my dependence on and love for GOD grows deeper and deeper.
Do I enjoy these times of troubles. ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Troubles are what I’ve experienced these past two weeks. First my daughter was in the hospital for five days due to electrolyte imbalances (because of her kidney disease and diabetes). When she was admitted, my husband was out of town. The hospital is 45 minutes from my house. I have two other children — teenagers…who need me. Being 17 and 18 years old, one would think that they would be understanding of my stress and try to help out a bit more and give me less grief. Unfortunately, that does not happen. Quite the opposite!
My daughter was mad that I couldn’t make it to her tennis match. My son snuck around and didn’t do any of his responsibilities. Neither lifted a finger to help around the house….left cups and dishes all over the counters and sink, left dirty clothes in my laundry room, and trash in my living room.
Two days after she was discharged, my son decided to leave the house at 9pm and didn’t return until 2am. Again, my husband was out of town (out of the country). My daughter expected me to make cookies for her Senior night at tennis (and of course complained when I only asked her to take out the trash.)
Then….the following day….I wake up sick. Flu type sick! Fever, aches, chills, headache. I went to Facebook and cried out for help. I could. do. no. more! Help me God! And He did! One person brought me food, one person brought me medicine, one person came and took E off the bus and helped with her, and one person came to give E all her medicines, feed her, check her sugars and help get her ready for bed.
THANK YOU GOD!
Fastforward a couple of days…and today, I was given the opportunity to go hiking with a friend to enjoy God’s wondrous creations!
Joy definitely comes “in the morning”!
